As permitted by Section III of the ASME Code, later Editions and Addenda and

Code Cases may be used provided such use is acceptable to the regulatory authority.
Herewith we then formally request NRC approval of our use of ASME Code Case N-430, approved by ASME on February 28, 1986. This Code Case is an i
incorporation of modified visual weld acceptance criteria for NF structures.
We understand that the NRC has given unconditional approval to many utilities for the use of this code case.
l Accordingly, we hereby request that you approve the use of this Code Case at WNP-3. We respectfully request your reply at the earliest opportunity.
