This meeting provided Virginia Electric and Power Company (VEPC0) an opportunity
to demonstrate the ability of their ultrasonic examination procedure and equip-
ment to detect, locate and size actual crack flaws propagating from the pipe
inside diameter in centrifugally cast stainless steel as discussed in the en-
closed report.
It is our opinion that this meeting was informative and beneficial to both NRC
and VEPC0 because of the exchange of information concerning inspection of cast
stainless steel.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2,
Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and its enclosure
will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
