On June 8,1987, a meeting was held in Bethesda, Maryland, between NRC staff and representatives of TVA for the purposes of discussing the contents and implementation of an Independent Design Verification Program (IDVP) for

Sequoyah. Attachment 1 is the list of attendees. Attachment 2 is a l
transcription and handout for the meeting.
j In summary, it was decided that the NRC will conduct an Independent Design Inspection. The safety system selected for review for Sequoyah Unit 2 was the Emergency Raw' Cooling-Water System. Also discussed was TVA's efforts associated with the missing civil engineering calculations and the selection of the sample size made by TVA. The staff informed TVA that to the extent practical, essentially all 5,000 missing calculations should be done prior to the restart of Sequoyah Unit 2.
