SUBJECT: NRC REVIEW 0F V0GTLE READINESS REVIEW MODULE N0. 9A, RADIOLOGICAL
PROTECTION, REPORT NO. 50-424/86-34
The NRC has completed a detailed review, inspection, and verification of the
subject module which you submitted to the NRC on March 25, 1986.
Periodic
inspections were conducted at the Vogtle site and the resultant findings were
discussed with members of your staff at the conclusion of these inspections.
Areas contained in the module which were reviewed, examined, and verified are
identified in the enclosed report.
Within these areas, the inspection and
verification consisted of selected examinations of procedures and representative
records, discussions with personnel, and review of your licensing commitments.
The results of Module No. 9A reviews and inspections are provided in the Summary
and Conclusion Sections of the enclosed report.

Based upon the NRC review and inspection of those activities identified in the
'
module, we have determined that those portions of your radiological protection
program which have been completed and reviewed in your readiness review
activities, are acceptable with the exception of those items or areas identified
in our report.
As noted in the report, the full implementation of the
radiological protection program remains to be completed.
The conclusions within the report are based upon information currently available
to the inspectors and reviewers.
Should information subsequently become
available which was not considered during this review or which conflicts with
earlier information, it will be evaluated to determine what effects it may have
on the above conclusion.
