Dear Mr. Grimsley,
Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, 5 U.S.C.
522, as amended, and 10 CFR 9.8 of the Commission's regulations, the Nuclear Information and Resource Service requests the following documents regarding the scheduled hearing on December 18, 1986 on the full-power license for the Shearon Harris nuclear power plant. Please consider " documents" to include reports, studies, test results, correspondence, memoranda, meeting notes, meeting minutes, working papers, graphs, charts, diagrams, notes and summaries of conversation and interviews, computer records, and any other forms of written communication, including internal NRC Staff memoranda.
Pursuant to this request, please provide all documents prepared or utilized by, in the possession of, or routed through the NRC related to :
1.
the scheduling of the 12/18/86 hearing for the Shearon Harris full-power operating license, include communication to or from Carolina Power and Light; 2.
the issues to be, or required to be, resolved before full-power operation or the issuance of the full-power operating license, including facts, investigations, and information bearing on any one or more of these issues; 3.
all information presented to or prepared for any Commissioner or the Commission Staff regarding the full-power operating license for the Shearon Harris nuclear power plant since June 1, 1986, include any information or issues not chosen by the NRC Staff, Commissioner, or anyone else, to be resolved prior to the issuance of the full-power operating license for the Shearon Harris nuclear power plant.

In our opinion, it is appropriate in this case for you to waive search charges, pursuant to 5 U.S.C. 522 (a) (4) (A) "because furnishing the information can be considered as primarily benefiting the general public."
