SUBJECT: EQUIPMENT OUALIFICATION INSPECTION OF YANKEE R0WE
NUCLEAR POWER PLANT (Inspection No. 50-029/86-18)
.
This letter confirms the dates of October 20 through 24, 1986 for the NRC
equipment qualification (EQ) inspection for Yankee Rowe.
These dates were
established during previous telephone conversations with your staff by Mr.
S. D. Alexander of this office and Mr.
C. Anderson of NRC Region I.
The
inspection will take place at your corporate offices October 20 and 21 and at
at the plant site October 22 through 24, 1986.
A management entrance meeting is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on October 20, 1986
at the corporate offices.
A management exit meeting is tentatively scheduled
for 10:00 a.m.
on October 24, 1986 at the plant site.
A plant walkdown
inspection is planned for Wednesday, October 22, 1986.
The inspection will include the following:
1.
Review of your implementation of a 10 CFR 50.49 program including preser-
vation of the qualified status of qualified equipment.
2.
Review of your implementation of Technical Evaluation Report / Safety Eval-
uation Report EQ corrective action commitments.
3.
Review of EQ documentation files.
4.
Physical inspection of selected plant equipment and selected field wirinc
