PISTAR' analysis was performed using Version 3.3.1 for five NRC benchmark problems presented in NUTECH Report, "PISTAR, Piping Analysis Computer Program, Verification to NRC Benchmark Problems," PSD-01-016, Revision 2.
PISTAR analysis was also performed for two. additional response spectrum' analysis benchmark-problems.
.Results of the. analysis are presented in Attachment II.
Microfiche of the.PISTAR computer print-out are contained ~in Attachment IV.

DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM MODIFICATIONS / VERIFICATION i
The program modifications'and the procedures listed for their verification are listed below.
A total of 13 verification i
problems were analyzed to verify the usual functions of the
. program, as well as the modifications incorporated in Version
- 3.3.1.
1.
Modifications were made to the Code Evaluation Phase to correct an error in Version 3.3.0 which caused the program to terminate execution,1f a TYPE CODE other than " DESIGN" was specified on the. CODE input card for Class 2 and' Class 3.
The verification problem PSTVPS3 was first~run using:
Version 3.3.0 to demonstrate the nature of-the problem (Run ID AIMODVS).
This verification problemLwas then run using Version 3.3.1 with TYPE CODES specified as "LEVELC",
"LEVELD", and " TEST" for Class 2 and Class 3 (Run ID's AIMODSM and AIMODSO).
The resultsiof the analysis were' compared to-the results of the same problems run.using Version 3.2.0 (Run ID's AIMOUPY'and AIMOUPV).
The comparison yielded identical'results and showed that the program is working correctly.
