.the South' Texas Project, Units-1 and 2, and to the discussion'of our findings

with J. T. Westermeier and other members of your staff at the' conclusion of the

inspection.

Areas examined during the inspection included site tours, licensee action on

previously reported items, licensee action on IE Circulars, procurement,

receiving and storage, safety-related structural steel, post-tensioning,

safety-related components, safety-related pipe supports and restraints,

!

protective coatings, cooling water reservoir, concrete testing, and followup on

allegations. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective

1 examination of procedures and-representative records, interviews with_

personnel, and' observations by the NRC inspectors. The inspection findings ~are

documented in the enclosed inspection report.

'Within the' scope of the inspection, no violations or deviations were

identified.

We' have also examined actions.you have taken with regard to previously

identified inspe'ction findings. The. status'of these-items is identified in

paragraph 3.of the' enclosed report.
