50-328 SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR _ PLANT - ACTIONS TAKEN AS A RESULT OF DECEMBER 15, 1986 REQUALIFICATION EXAMINATIONS In conopliance with our connaitments delineated in our letter of February 23, 1987, please be advised that the three Reactor Operators who failed the requalification written examinations admininstered by NRC to Sequoyah Nuclear Plant licensees on December 15, 1986, received training in the areas described from February 23, 1987 to March 5, 1987.. These individuals were reexamined March 6, 1987 and passed the written examinations. The written examination and answer key were forwarded to you by our letter of March 2, 1987. The examination and answer key were approved by NRC before administration of the examination. The' return of these individuals to licensed duties was subsequently discussed with and approved by Bill Dean of NRC.
These Reactor Operators were subsequently returned to license duties effective March 6, 1987.
In addition, the weaknesses identified among the three Reactor Operators in the examination of December 15, 1986, were addressed in Requalification Training administered from January 12, 1987 to March 13, 1987 to all sequoyah licensees.
By our letter dated February 25, 1987, we requested that J. M. Alexander's Senior Operator license be placed in inactive status. Therefore,-all consaltments made in our letter dated February 23, 1987 have been completed.
