By letter dated November 2,1986 you requested information for a.new course in your Engineering Department on "Decomissioning of Nuclear Power Plants and Long Term Waste Storage."

In separate packages,.I provided-three copies of the " Draft Environmental Statement for Decomissioning Humboldt Ba_y Power Plant Unit No. 3" and a copy of " Nuclear Facility Decomissioning and Site RemediarTtTons - A Selected Bibliography." The bibliography presents 643 references on decomissionirg and related areas.

Most of the referenced documents, as well as more recent volumes of the bibliography, can be obtained through either the National Technical Information Service, 5285 Port Royal Road, Springfield, VA 22161 or the Technical Information Center, Department of Energy, P. O. Box 62, Oak Ridge, TN 37831.

With this letter, I am enclosing a copy of " Proceedings of the International Decomissioning Planning Conference (July 16-18,1985)" for your library.

Regarding your regest for an NRC presentation to your class, because of the ongoing hearing process on the decomissioning of the Humboldt Bay Power Plant, I do not believe that such NRC staff presentations are appropriate at this time.
