Dear Mr. Zigrossi:

Your letter dated April 8,1987 forwarded for NRC information the results of an audit of the TVA employee concerns programs conducted in response to a commitment to the NRC.

Your audit concludes that the TVA employee concerns programs are accomplishing their objectives and that files on employee concerns are orderly and contain information to support the concern reports. Recommendations for improvements were included in your audit report for a number of areas such as the quality of reports, supporting documentation, tracking of corrective actions, and feedback to concerned employees. We view implementation of your recommendations to be important to ensure that the ongoing employee concerns programs will be effective. Your letter states that your office would follow up in future audits on implementation of commitments made for improvements. He request that you provide us with the results of such future audits.

The NRC has also performed a number of inspections of the TVA employee concerns programs and will continue to monitor their effectiveness. Thank you for providing your report for our review.
