NRC Region III recently received several allegations which concerned security officers being only minimally effective in performing their duties and a member of the security staff that is alleged to be "taking advantage" of female guards at the Fermi 2 site. The attachment to this letter is a description of the allegations received and the identity of some of the personnel allegedly involved.
The enclosure to this. letter should be strictly controlled and distribution limited to personnel only with a "need-to-know" to protect the personal privacy of the individuals while your investigation is in progress. The enclosure is considered as Exempt From Public Disclosure in accordance with Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 2.790(a)(7).
NRC Region III expects that the Detroit Edison Company will fully analyze the allegations, initiate the appropriate investigation, and take comprehensive appropriate action as necessary in order to address each specific allegation and any potential consequences of the allegations, if substantiated.
We further request that the results of your review and disposition of these matters be submitting to NRC Region III after completion.
Documentation supporting your results should be maintained onsite for any further inspection by NRC Region III.
