Braidwood Station Unit 1 Environmental Qualification in Compliance with 10CFR 50.49 NRC Docket No. 50-456
Dear Mr. Denton:
Commonwealth Edison Company has prepared a master list of electrical equipment as required by 10CFR 50.49(d).
All equipment which is installed in the subject facility and which Commonwealth Edison Company has included on its master list as within the scope of 10CPR50.49 la environmentally qualified.
A maintenance and surveillanco program has been implemented to maintain qualification.
Additional equipment which may be required to satisfy Reg.
Guide 1.97, or equipment currently installed to satisfy Reg. Guide 1.97, but for which there is dispute over the need for environmental qualifications will be environmentally qualified and subject to a maintenance and surveillance program in accordance with the schedule accepted by the NRC if so required under 10CFR 50.49.
Discussions are continuing with your staff concerning the effects of super-heated steam environments on certain components which are part of the main steam isolation valves.
We believe that the components in question are environmentally qualified.
