Gentlemen:
This refers to the inspection conducted by Messrs. D. D. Chamberlain and
W. B. Jones of this office during the period September 15 through October 31,
1986, of activities authorized by NRC Operating License NPF-47 for
River Bend Station, and to the discussion of our findings with you and other
members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection included review of Licensee Event
Reports (LERs), licensee action on IE Notices, operational safety verification,
surveillance test witnessing, maintenance witnessing and safety system
walkdown. Within these areas, the inspection confiisted of selected examination
of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and
observations by the NRC inspectors. The inspection findir.gs are documented in
the enclosed inspection report.
Within the scope of the inspection, no violations or deviations were
identified.
We have also examined actions you have taken with regard to previously
identified inspection findings. The status of these items is identified in
paragraph 2 of the enclosed inspection report.
