Dear Mr. Carrington:
In accordance with the above reference, INEL has been providing technical assistance to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation for the evaluation of plant-specific licensing submittals regarding qualification of safety and relief valves.
The enclosed report documents an analysis of the V. C. Summer Nuclear Power Station, Unit 1 pressurizer safety valve discharge piping.
The results of the analysis indicate that the loads frcm a discharge of the safety valves do not overstress the discharge piping of the reference plant. The results of the analysis will be used to verify the submittal by the licensee of the V. C. Summer plant and to evaluate the adequacy of submittals by other PWR licensees.
