NRC Inspection, EA No. 87-60
This refers to the special inspection conducted by Mr. C. A. Hooker of this
office on April 15-24, 1987, of activities authorized by NRC License No.
NPF-1, and to the discussion of our findings held by Mr. Hooker with you and
other members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the enclosed
inspection report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective
examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with
personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Based on the results of this inspection, it appears that you failed to fully
implement appropriate radiological controls as necessary to ensure that work
involving radioactive materials would be conducted in a safe manner.
Enforcement actions relative to the findings discussed in the enclosed
inspection report will be the subject of separate correspondence.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and the enclosure
will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
