DPR-71 FUEL CYCLE NO. 6 - RELOAD LICENSING Gentlemen:
On October 21,1986, Carolina Power & Light Company requested a reload licensing amendment to allow Brunswick Plant, Unit No.1 Cycle 6 operation under the provisions of 10 CFR 50.59. This request was issued as Amendment No.108 to the Brunswick Plant, Unit No.1 Technical Specifications on May 15,1987.
The Company has received and reviewed the General Electric Reload Licensing Topical Report concerning Reload 5/ Cycle 6 operation (Supplemental Reload Licensing Submittal for Brunswick Steam Electric Plant, Unit No.1, Reload 5 - 23A5814, Revision 0). Based on the Company's review of the report, we have determined that no unreviewed safety questions exist and no additional Technical Specification changes are required to support Brunswick Plant, Unit No. I operation for Cycle 6. A copy of the General Electric Topical Report is enclosed for your information.
