Dear Mr. Denton:
Based on conversations with Mr. Charles Willis of your Staff, attached is clarification to the proposed amendment to the Technical Specifications for Facility Operating License Nos. NPF-35 and NPF-52 for Catawba Units 1 and 2 transmitted by my letters dated April 9, 1986 and June 5, 1986. The discussion of the justification and safety analysis contained in my previous transmittal are applicable to this supplement. The analyses were included pursuant to 10 CFR 50.91 and it has been concluded that these proposed amendments do not involve significant hazards considerations.
Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.91(b)(1) the appropriate South Carolina State Official is being provided a copy of this amendment request.
