ADMINISTRATIVE CONTROLS 6.5.3 NUCLEAR REVIEW BOARD (NRB)
FUNCTION a
6.5.3.1 The NRB shall function to provide independent review and audit of d3signated activities in the areas of:
i a.
Nuclear power plant operations, I
b.
Nuclear engineering, c.
Chemistry and radiochemistry, d.
Metallurgy, l
e.
Nondestructive testing, f.
Instrumentation and control, g.
Radiological safety, and l
h.
Mechanical and electrical engineering.
l COMPOSITION i
6.5.3.2 The NRB shall consist of no less than the seven, nor more than eleven members including the Chairman and the Unit Superintendent.
The Chairman and members of the NRB shall be appointed in writing by the Senior l
Vice President-Nuclear Engineering and Operations and shall have an academic degree in an engineering or physical science field or hold a senior management position.
In addition, they shall have a minimum of five years technical experience, of which a minimum of three years shall be in their respective field of expertise.
CONSULTANTS l
consultants shall be utilized as determined by the NRB Chairman to 6.5.3.3 i
provide expert advice to the NRB.
MEETING FREQUENCY i
6.5.3.4 The NRB shall meet at least once per calendar quarter during the l
initial year of facility operation following fuel loading and at least once per 6 months thereafter.

QUORUM The quorum of the NRB nec.essary for the performance of the NRB 6.5.3.5 review and audit functions of these Technical Specifications shall consist of the Chairman or his designa$ed ellternate and at least four members.
No core than a minority of the quorum shall have line responsibility for I
operation of the unit.
