Gentlemen:
This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Dr. R. B. Holtzman
of this office on July 28 to August 1,1986, of activities at Braidwood Nuclear
Power Station, Units 1 and 2, authorized by NRC Construction Permits No. CPPR-132
and No. CPPR-133 and to the discussion of our findings with Mr. L. E. Davis and
others of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection on August 1,1986.
Additional discussions were held with D. Keneally of your corporate office
and R. Aken on August 5 and with M. Andrews on August 7, 1986.
The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined during
the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective
examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and
interviews with personnel.
No violations of NRC requirements were identified during the course of this
inspection.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of
this letter and the enclosed inspection report will be placed in the NRC
Public Document Room.
