An unannounced routine safety inspection of emergency preparedness activities
was conducted July 7-10, 1986, at Northeast Nuclear Energy Company's Millstone
Units 1, 2 and 3 Nuclear Power Station, Waterford, Connecticut, by Mr. J. Hawxhurst
and another staff member of this office. Discussions of our findings were held
by Mr. Hawxhurst with Mr. Romberg and other members of your staff at the con-
clusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this. inspection are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative
records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
