STANDBY LIQUID CONTROL SYSTEM RE: SH0REHAM NUCLEAR POWER STATION The Comnission has issued the enclosed Amendment No. 6 to Facility Operating License No. NPF-36 for the Shoreham Nuclear Power Station. This amendment consists of changes to the Technical Specifications (TSs) in response to your application dated February 4,1987 and supplemented by your letter dated April 10,1987.

This amendment changes the Technical Specifications with regard to the Standby Liquid Control System (SLCS). The changes reflect LILCO's plan to enrich the boron in the SLCS to eighty-five atom percent Boron-10 to satisfy the requirements of 10 CFR 50.62(c)(4).

A copy of our Safety Evaluation is also enclosed. Notice of Issuance will be included in the Comission's biweekly Federal Register notice.
