OPERATIONS

SUMMARY

JULY, 1986 The unit entered the month of July at 100% power producing approximately 828 MWe gross electrical generation.

RC-P-1C.(reactor coolant pump) experienced an upward trend in #1 seal leakoff flowrate. This increased flowrate is continuously monitored by plant personnel and is presently acceptable. GPUN is following guidance provided by Westinghouse based on similar experience.

A riverwater Fire Service Diesel Pump (FS-P-3), its controls and the building itself sustained damage as a result of an inadvertent main transformer deluge actuation combined with a discharge check valve failure. The fire service diesel sump was pressurized by reverse water flow. The reverse flow produced a piston effect blowing an access manway through the building roof. The fire service pump has been restored to service following repairs.

At the close of this reporting period TMI-1 continues to operate at 100%

power.

RC-P-1C #1 seal leakoff flowrate is being monitored for adverse trends and continues to remain acceptable.

MAJOR SAFETY RELATED MAINTENANCE During the month of July, TMI-1 performed no major maintenance items on safety related equipment.
