This refers to your letter (LIC-86-398) dated July 31, 1986, regarding the statements made at tne public OPPD Board of Directors Meeting held on July 17, 1986.
The review of the selected transcripts by my staff revealed that the statements made by Mr. N. Bruce Irwin, Sr. to the OPPD board and attributed to NRC Region IV, are not accurate.
The conversation between Mr. Imin and two NRC Region IV staff members in May 1986, was general in nature. Mr. Irwin was referred to previously completed NRC reports, including the last SALP (NRC SALP Board Report 50-285/85-07) and the recent EQ inspection report (NRC Inspection Report 50-285/8509-EA86-29). He was also referred to the licensee for questions on specific scheduling issues; and was invited to call the NRC with any other questions. We are not aware of any subsequent communications between this office and Mr. Irwin.
