- %m Docket: 50-458 g g g6 Gulf States Utilities ATTN: William J. Cahill, Jr.
Senior Vice President River Bend Nuclear Group
'P. O. Box 220 St. Francisville, Louisiana 70775
SUBJECT:
REACTOR OPERATOR AND SENIOR OPERATOR LICENSING AND REQUALIFICATION EXAMINATIONS Gentlemen:
In a telephone conversation between Mr. D. L. Andrews, Director, Nuclear Training and Mr. R. A. Cooley, Chief, Operator Licensing Section, arrangements were made for the administration of examinations to River Bend personnel.
Written and simulator / operating examinations are scheduled for the weeks of November 3 and 17, 1986, at the River Bend training facility. The written examinations will be administered on November 4, 1986, and simulator / operating examinations will be administered from November 5-7, 1986 and November 17-21, 1986.
In order for us to meet the above schedule, it will be necessary for the facility to furnish the approved reference material listed in Enclosure 1,
" Reference Material Requirements for Reactor / Senior Reactor Operator Licensing Examinations," by September 6, 1986. Any delay in receiving this material may result in a delay in administering the examinations. Our examinations are scheduled far in advance with considerable planning to utilize our present examiner manpower and to meet the examination dates requested by various facilities. Missing the September 6,1986 deadline, even by a few days, likely will result in a long delay because it may not be possible to reschedule examinations at other facilities. Mr. Andrews has been informed of our reference material requirements and the address where the material must be sent.
The facility management is responsible for providing adequate space and facilities in order to properly conduct the written examinations. Enclosure 2,
" Administration of Reactor / Senior Reactor Operator Licensing Written Examinations," describes our requirements for conducting these examinations.
Mr. Andrews has also been informed of these requirements.
This request for information was approved by the Office of Management and Budget under Clearance Number 315.1-0101, which expires May 31, 1989.
Comments on burden and duplication may be directed to the Office of Management and Budget, Reports Management Room 3208, New Executive Office Building, Washington, D. C. 20503.
