This transmits the March 17 to April 27, 1987, routine inspection findings of
Messrs. C. Holden and R. Freudenberger at the Maine Yankee Atomic Power Plant,
Wiscasset, Maine.
Those findings were based on observations of activities,. inter-
,
views, and document reviews, and have been discussed with Mr. Garrity of your staff.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
In general, the
refueling outage appears well run with good management overview of activities.
,
On the other hand, two errors which had the potential to adversely affect the out-
age (inadvertent initiation of recirculation actuation and the fuel handling ma-
chine contact with the light ring) indicate the continued need for attention to
'
i
detail at all levels.
