Thank you for your timely submittal of the scope and objectives for the Prairie Island Emergency Preparedness Exercise scheduled for July 7,1987.

We have reviewed the scope and objectives of the exercise. This review, plus a telephone discussion on May 11, 1987 of certain aspects of the exercise with Mr. Michael Ladd and Mr.' Mel Agen of your staff and Mr. James Patterson of my staff, confirmed to us that the scope and objectives as identified are acceptable.

My staff will provide further comments on the adequacy of the scenario, when submitted, and communicate them to Mr. Michael Ladd of your staff by telephone, approximately two to three weeks prior to the exercise.
