McGuire Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2 Docket Nos. 50-369 and 50-370 Gentlemen:
On October 29, 1986, a number of valves at McGuire were declared to be inoperable due to Rotork motor switch settings. This included valves in the Emergency Core Cooling System and rendered all trains (two per unit) of the ECCS inoperable; both units were shut down in accordance with Technical Specification 3.0.3.
The Licensee Event Report for this incident will be delayed until December 19, 1986 such that testing may be completed and evaluated for both units, and included in the report.
