SUMMARY

This concern is not substantiated.

This investiga< tion encompassed a

review of,

activities applicable to microfilming of quality documentation in Knoxville and at the Sequoyah Nuclear Power Station.

FINDINGS h

Documents are microfilmed in many locations within TVA.

The microfilm has no special identifier to flag where a document may have been photographed, therefore, it is impossible to identify microfilm of welder performance qualification records prepared and microfiImed specifically in Knoxville.

The Code of Federal Regulation 41CFR101-11.506 allows for the destruction of original documents once

@ the document has been placed on microfilm. The:-efore, it is impossible i

h to obtain original welder certification documentation previously

DETAILS:

FINDINGS: (Continued) microfilmed to determine if correction fluid was used on the welder certifications.

It has been substantiated tnat correction fluid han been used on welder performance cualification records (refer to XX-85-088-XO4) for welders employed at the Secuoyah NPS, however those found in that condition were orepared at the site.

Within the last six rnonths the remaincer of welder oerformance Qualification

records, welder certification records and other-j accumentation associated with the construction chase at the SON were i

boxed and sent to Knoxville for microfilraing, and were located in the i

vault of the MED's Service Center.

A review of these docurnent s disclosed they had not been crecared for raicrofilming indicating that the SON rnicrofilming departicent had not prepared the documents crior to i

transraattino thern to. Mnoxv111e.

~

There was no correction fluid founc on the sub,)ect doeurnent s.

l

~

OBSERVATION:

l None.

g I

CONCLUSION:

k l

This concern can not be substantiated as of tnis writing.

The SON welding ebetifications locatec in Knoxville have not been preparec for microfilming thus far.
