This refers to the special safety inspection conducted by NRC Region I staff
members on September 22-25, 1986 at the Hope Creek Nuclear Generating Station.
The findings of the inspection were discussed with Mr. R. S. Salvesen.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I Ins-
pection Report enclosed with this letter.
The inspection of your post-accident
sampling and monitoring systems consisted of selective examinations of proce-
-
dures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations
by the inspection team members.
No violations were observed. However, some improvement items are discussed in
this report. You are requested to review the identified items and respond with-
in 30 days of the date of this letter on actions planned or taken in regard to
,
these items.
The responses requested by this letter are not subject to th2 clearance proce-
dures of the Office of Management and Budget as required by the Paperwork Re-
duction Act of 1980, PL 96-511. Your cooperation with us in this matter is
appreciated.
