Dear Mr. Stewart:
Subject:
Generic letter 83-28, Item P.1 (Part II), Vendor Interface Programs-RTS Cornponents/ North Anna Power Station, linits No. I and No. 2 (NA-1&2)
Generic Letter 83-28. Item 2.1 (Part 2) required licensees to confirm that they have established an interface with either the Nuclear Stee'n System Supplier (NSSS) or with the venders of each of the components of the Reactar Trip System (RTS). The Ger.eric Letter also requested that the licensee's respense confirm that the interface prcgram includes periodic communic: tion between the licensee and the vendor as well as a system of positive feedback which confirms receipt by the licensee of transmittals of technical information.
By letter dated February 8,1985, Virginia Electric and Power Corupany (VEPCO) responded to the requirements of item 2.1 (Part 2). Our review of VEPCO's response is documented in the staff's enclosed SER and the contractor's report (EG&G-NTA-7625) which finds VEPC0's response to be acceptable. We therefore consider Part 2 of Item 2.1 to be closed by this action.
Sincerely,
/s/
Leon B. Engle, Project Manager Project Directorate II-2 Division of Reactor Projects-I/II
