This is in response to your July 22, 1986 letter requesting a 90-day extension for performing the 1986 audit and review of the nuclear material control system.

We have reviewed your request and have detennined that granting it will not adversely affect the common defense and security nor the public health and safety and is otherwise in the public interest. Accordingly, we are issuing a new unnumbered license condition to Amendment MPP-2 to your license No. SNM-1168, effective insediately, to read as follows:

Notwithstanding the requirements of 10 CFR 70.58(c)(2) and Section 8.2.1.1 of the Plan identified in License Condition 2.1 to conduct a review and audit of the nuclear material control system at 12 month intervals, the licensee may start the review and audit scheduled for August 12, 1986, on or before November 12, 1986.
