As a result of the inspection conducted between September 22 and October 9,1986, and in accordance with 10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C'- General Statement of Policy and Procedure for NRC Enforcement Actions (1985),'the following violation was
. identi fied:
10 CFR 20.201(b) requires that surveys be conducted as may be necessary for the licensee to comply with 10 CFR 20.103 and are reasonable to evaluate the radiation hazards.
Contrary to the.above, adequate surveys were not taken in the CRD rebuild room before workers completed reassembly of a pump bearing on June 16, 1986, to ensure persons would not be exposed to concentrations in excess of 10 CFR 20.103 iimits, and to determine radiological conditions.
l This is a Severity Level IV violation (Supplement IV).
The inspection showed that a tion had been taken to correct the identified violation and to prevent recurrence. Consequently, no reply to the violation j
is required and we have no further questions regarding this matter.
