FORT ST. VRAIN-BUILDING CONSTRUCTION AND MODIFICATIONS We have reviewed your letter dated September 24,1986'(P-86550),providing a list and schedule of proposed bui_lding construction at Fort St. Vrain

.(FSV).

This. letter is to advise you of certain concerns we'have about these proposed activities. We have also noted certain standards that are applicable to thes.e proposals.

- Specific coments, by building, are:

Building 33 -:The staff has a concern about flamable and corrosive materials. Applicable guidance includes: Naticnal Fire Protection Association Standard 30, Regulatory Guides (RG) 1.78 and 1.95, and

~ Standard Review Plans 2.2.1, 2.2.2 and,2.2.3.

Building 35'- We are concerned about the handling of irradiated material.

' Applicable guidance includes RG 1.43 and Generic Letter 81-23.

Building 36 - The applicable Security Plan may require revision.

Shif t Supervisor's Office Addition to Main Control Room - Staff review and approval of design basis and proposed plans may be required.
