Dear Mr. Dosa:
The activated components which have been removed from the reactor tank are shown on the enclosed sheet.
I am now reminded that I forgot to mention at the enforcement conference what are referred to on the enclosure as " irons".
These are aluminum angles designed to hold a baffle which could be inserted to interruptzthe convective flow of water to the core.
They were never used.
These are the disassembled items that got me into trouble with the NRC. As we discussed at the conference, we still would like to dispose of.this
' material.
It seems to me that with the proper permission, we could include it as part of a routine radioactive waste disposal shipment which the University does every few months.
I would appreciate your help.

of Co-60 The only isotope that was found to be present was Co-60.
This was determined by an MCA.
The most activity was located in the stainless steel bolts which held the grid plates together, and which connected the control sheaths to the control units.
M. Lemon The parts could easily fit into a volume of approximately 1.5 to 2.0 cubic feet. (less than 1/3 of a 55 gallon drum)
