EQUIPMENT QUALIFICATION INSPECTION OF TROJAN NUCLEAR PLANT (INSPECTION NO. 50-344/87-13)

This letter confirms the dates of May 18 through 22, 1987 for the NRC equipment qualification (EQ) inspection for Trojan. These dates were established during previous telephone conversations with your staff by Mr. S. D. Alexander of this office. The inspection will take place at your corporate engineering offices in Portland on May 18-22, 1987 and at at the plant site May 20, 1987.

A management entrance meeting is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 1987 at your corporate engineering offices in Portland.

A management exit meeting is tentatively scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 22, 1987 also at the Portland engineering offices. A plant walkdown inspection is planned for Wednesday, May 20, 1987.

l The inspection will include the following:

1.

Review of your implementation of a 10 CFR 50.49 program including preser-vation of the qualified status of qualified equipment.

2.

Review of your implementation of Technical Evaluation Report / Safety Eval-uation Report EQ corrective action commitments.

3.

Review of EQ documentation files.

4.

Physical inspection of selected plant equipment and selected field wiring.
