SAFETY EVALUATION CONCERNING VENDOR INTERFACE PROGRAMS (RTSCOMPONENTS)-GENERICLETTER83-28, ITEM 2.1(PART2)

By Item 2.1 of Generic Letter 83-28 Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company (CYAPCO) was required to confirm that they had established an interface program with the vendors of each of the components of their reactor trip system. This interface program was to include periodic communication of technical information between the licensee and the vendors.

The staff has completed its review of the CYAPC0 responses, dated November 8,1983 and March 5,1987, and concluded that the licensee's responses are acceptable. A copy of our Safety Evaluation is enclosed.

Item _2.1_(Part_1) was-previously-resolved-by-a-Safety-Evaluation-dated" - '~

August 15,1986. -Therefore, the staff concludes that all licensing reviews for Item-2.1 of Generic Letter 83-28 have been completed and the issue is closed.
