SUBJECT:
DRAFT SERs FOR SEQUOYAH ENGINEERING CATEGORY FINAL ELEMENT REPORTS EN 210.1 AND EN 210.2 Enclosed are the safety evaluation reports (SERs) of Sequoyah Engineering Category Final Element Report EN 210.1, " Environmental Qualification, Sensitive Instruments / Harsh Environments" and EN 210.2, " Environmental Qualification, Inadequate EQ of E*ectrical Equipment and IAC."
Per the direction given in R. L. Ballard's mercrandum of February 5, 1987, the following allegations under Category 3 - Engineering were identified es being related to the subject element reports.
IE-86-A-0002 Similarity of Sequoyah and Watts Rar caused design errors at Watts Bar.
IE-86-A-0029 Assurance that an appropriate level of qualification is provided all equipment.
IE-86-A-0033 There are environnental and seismic EQ problems.
(IE will investigete except for seismic aspects - NRR will investigate seismic under NRR-85-A-0005) (Seismic does not relate to element report.)

m Shou Hou March 11, 1987 We believe that there is currently no inconsistency between the findings in the enclosed SERs and these allegations. However, the allegations have not yet been closed. When they are closed we will notify you whether or not the enclosures'need revision.
