Gentlemen:
This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Drs. R. B. Holtzman
and J. E. House of this office and Mr. B. Barnes of EG&G, Idaho on February 5
and 17-20, 1987, of activities at Braidwood Nuclear Power Station, Units 1
and 2, . authorized by NRC 0)erating License Permit No. NPF-59 and NRC
Construction Permit No. CP)R-133 and to the discussion of our findings with
Mr. E. E. Fitzaatrick and others of your staff at the conclusion of the
inspection on :ebruary 20, 1987.
Telephone conversations were held with
representatives of your plant staff on February 25 and 26,1987.
The enclosed copy of our inspection re) ort identifies areas examined during
the inspection. Within these areas, t1e inspection consisted of a selective
examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and
,
interviews with personnel.
No violations of NRC requirements were identified during the course of this
inspection.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a co)y
of this letter and the enclosed inspection report will be placed in tie
NRC Public Document Room.
We will gladly discuss any questions you have concerning this inspection.
