Docket No. 71-9071 Gentlemen:
A'4EFCJ Inc,. is desirous of temporarily fastening a track type dunnage system into the interior containment system of our AP-101 shipping cask.
This letter requests that the NRC revise the ANEFCO Model AP-101 cask, NRC Certificate of Compliance No. 9071 to reflect authorization for the temporary system.
The enclosed sketch AP-101-0-86142 details the track system and the spot welds required to afix the system to the cask I.D.
Grinding will be utilized to remove the dunnage once the respective shipments are completed.
There are no deleterieus effects which result from the addition of the dunnage to the integrity of the containment.
Your earliest response to the above request is anticipated since shipments are scheduled for July 18, 1986.
