In Reference 1, General Public Utilities Nuclear Corporation (GPUNC) requested i
NRC approval of the Defueling Safety Evaluation Report-Revision 10.
In

Reference 2, the NRC staff granted approval, in part, of the defueling activities (i.e., core region defueling)' proposed in Reference 1.
We have now coapletedourreviewoftheremainingdefuelingactivities(i.e.,lowerhead vacuuming) and conclude that no safety concerns, beyond those previously evaluated, are raised by the rer.aining activities._ This conclusion is consistent with our review of the defueling vacuum system forwarded in Reference 3.
It is our understanding that activities related to defueling the core support assembly (CSA) will be addressed in a future GPUN safety evaluation report.
Subject to our approval of procedures per Technical Specification 6.8.2, we approve the full scope of defueling activities described in Reference 1.
