Inspection 50-35?/86-27
This refers to the routine resident safety inspection by Mr. E. M. Keliy and
Mr. S. D. Kucharski on November 27, 1986 to January 26, 1987 at the linerick
Generating Station, Limerick, Pennsylvania. The inspection consisted :f docu-
ment reviews, interviews, and observation of activities, and the results have
been discussed with Mr. John Franz of your staff.
Two concerns were identified during the inspection that require PEC0 management
attention. One concern involves a Unit 1-2 system interface contamination which
was brought to your attention in a letter dated December 22, 1986, in which we
requested that the results of your review be provided to NRC Region I.
The other
concern involves a recurrent problem of secondary containment performance which
we believe requires PEC0 licensing attention and possible Technical Specification
changes.
No violations of NRC requirements were identified and no response is required.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and the enclosures
will be placed in the public Document Room.
