Dear Dr. Grace:
Pursuant to Oconee Nuclear Station Technical Specification 4.17.6(b), Duke Power Company (Duke) is providing the following information concerning the Oconee Unit 2 steam generator inservice inspection. The inservice inspection for the current Unit 2 refueling outage was completed on August 28, 1986.
There were approximately 2,219 tubes inspected in the Unit 2 OTSG "A".
For Unit 2 OTSG "B", there were approximately 2,396 tubes inspected. The eddy current testing was conducted from the inlet end of the generator and covered the entire length of the tube.
Please find attached (Attachments 1 and 2) lists of tubes located in Oconee Unit 1 OTSGs "A" and "B" respectively which have eddy current indications of tube wall degradation greater than or equal to 20% but less than 40%. No tubes required plugging in either steam generator.
