ARKANSAS NUCLEAR ONE - UNIT 2 SIMULATOR UTILIZATION Gentlemen:
We have received your letter (2CAN118609) dated November. 13, 1986, and received in Region IV on December 19, 1986, concerning simulator utilization at Arkansas Nuclear One, Unit 2 (ANO-2). We agree with your intent on the

use of the simulator, and also grant the waiver of _the delay in use of the simulator until after all the design changes ~are completed. We believe it is better for the operating exams to be conducted on the simulator after all the changes have been incorporated, and the next set of examinations scheduled for April 1988 will include the use of the simulator for the operating examinations.
As discussed with your Mr. Walt Perks during a November 17, 1986 telephone conversation with Mr. Ralph Cooley, Mr. Cooley will observe some of the reactor operator certification examinations during the week of February 9, 1987.
