Under separate cover, we are transmitting an application for an Amendment to Facility Operating License No. NPF-3 for the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, Unit No. 1.

This application requests that the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, Unit No. 1 Operating License, Appendix A, Technical Specifications be revised to reflect the changes attached. The proposed changes involve adding Section 3/4.7.1.7 and Bases Section B 3/4.7.1.7 for the Motor Driven Feedwater Pump System, which is similar to the existing Auxiliary Feedwater (AFW) System Technical Specification and Bases. In conjunction with this application, the Technical Specification index should be updated to reflect these changes.

The proposed changes, as discussed in the attached Safety Evaluation, are being submitted in accordance with the following commitment in the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Course of Action (COA) document, Revi-sion 4, Appendix III.2, Question No. 10c, (Serial No. 1208):

" Provide proposed Technical Specifications for the motor driven feed pump which are similar to the existing Technical Specifications for the existing AFW pumps."

This commitment was also included in the NRC's Safety Evaluation Report Supporting Davis-Besse Restart, NUREG-1177 and Licensee Action Commitments, Commitment No. 46, (Log No. 2062).
