Physical Examination of Inspectors We understand that Consolidated Edison requires a physical examination for all personnel prior to entry into radiologically controlled areas at Indian Point-2 station. Based on discussions between Dr. T. Doyle of your staff 'and Dr. M.
i Shanbaky of my staff on June 13, 1986, it was agreed that this requirement is not applicable to NRC and NRC-contractor personnel.
However, if a respirator is to be used, then a medical evaluation in accordance with 10 CFR 20.103 is appropriate.
This requirement will be satisfied by NRC inspectors by presentation of a medical certification.
