ERF Appraisal Response 50-413/85-39, 50-414/85-36, Appendix C Improvement Items 10.

Revising procedures which use meteorological data to reflect the hierarchy for data substitution, and specifying an assigned data averaging period (i.e., 15 minutes) and valid time of the observation. Specifying averaging period and valid time of observation for the digital displays or summary sheets provided through the VAX computer.

(IFI 50-413/85-39-15, 50-413/85-36-15)

Response: Procedures have been revised to detail the hierarchy of data substitution and specifying an assigned data averaging period.

14. Providing an uninterrupted power line for all necessary components of the TSC data acquisition system.

(IFI 50-413/85-39-21, 50-414/85-36-21)

Response: An uninterrupted power supply for all necessary components of the data acquisition and display system is provided.

The necessary components of the data acquisition and display system are 1) OAC, 2) Mohawk Data Likn,

3) VAX Computer, 4) LA-120 terminal, 5) Telephone lines, 6) Tektronics terminal, 7) dose assessment terminal.

Assuming a loss of normal station power, the following items would be lost:

1.

normal incoming power to the Station VAX 2.

Station Telephone system 3.

normal incoming power to the OAC 4.

normal incoming power to the Mohawk data link 5.

normal incoming power to the Tektronics terminal, the dose assessment terminal and the LA-120 terminal, all located in the TSC.

Data acquisition and display during a loss of normal station power would be achieved by transmitting data from the Mohawk data link to the ECCS VAX (Charlotte) rather than to the Station VAX (Item #1) using dedicated outside telephone lines located at the LA-120 terminal and the Mohawk data link (item #2).

Backup power would be provided to the OAC and Mohawk data link from the 125 VDC Auxiliary Control Power System via the inverters associated with the 240/120V AC Auxiliary Control Power System (EPK) (items #3 and #4).

Backup power would be provided to all TSC receptacles (I.E. Tektronics terminal, dose assessment terminal, LA-120 terminal, etc.) from the 600 V Blackout Auxiliary Power System or motor control center 2MXW via the Automatic Transfer Switch SAXE and shared motor control center 94KE (item f5).
