SUBJECT:
REVIEW 0F ALPHA-MODE FAILURE STUDY A meeting will be held on July 22, 1986 in Room P-422 of the Phillips Building in Bethesda, Maryland. The results from a study on alpha-mode failure proba-bility will be presented. The meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m.
The agenda for the meeting is enclosed as Enclosure 1.
The study was performed for the NRC by members of Science Applications International, Inc., in consultation with Pro-fessor T. G. Theofanous (University of California at Santa Barbara). The study was managed by the Franklin Research Center in Philadelphia.
Reports and pa-pers describin'g this work will be provided to interested parties before the meeting. For further information contact Mr. Cardis Allen on (301) 492-4727.

NECNP is an intervenor in the Seabrook operating license proceeding.
The organization intends to use this information in the licensing hearings to further the public's interest in the safety of operation of the Seabrook plant.
