SUBJECT:
EQUIPMENT QUALIFICATION INSPECTION - LACROSSE BOILING WATER REACTOR This letter confirms the dates of January 5-9, 1987, for the NRC Environmental Qualification (EQ) Inspection of electrical and instrumentation equipment, at the Lacrosse Boiling Water Reactor. These dates were established during a December 15, 1986, telephone conversation between Mr. B. Brimer of your staff and Mr. A. S. Gautam of my staff. The inspection will be performed by a six member inspection team with Mr. A. S. Gautam of the Region III office as lead inspector.
The following areas will be inspected:
1.
Implementation of corrective action conmitments addressed in the final LACBWR EQ Safety Evaluation Report.
2.
Compliance to EQ regulations of 10 CFR 50.49, including Program Procedures, Master Equipment List, Maintenance, Procurement, Upgrading of Replacement Equipment, Quality Assurance and Employee Training.
3.
Adequacy of equipment qualification files, including responses to relevant NRC Information Notices and Bulletins.
4.
Installation and maintenance of selected plant EQ equipment.
A ranagement entrance meeting is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on January 5, 1987, at the plant site. A plant walkdown inspection of selected EQ equipment is scheduled for January 7,1987, and an NRC exit meeting is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on January 9,1987. To facilitate NRC preparation for this inspection, Mr. Brimer of your staff has been requested to submit the following LACBWR EQ documents no later than Updated Master Equipment List for items within the scope of 10 CFR 50.49.
Procedures addressing your implementation of the 10 CFR 50.49 program.
EQ responses relevant to the final LACBWR EQ SER.
Latest QA audit report on EQ activities.
