INTRODUCTION This M'm=nt has been prepared to (1) delineate system-specific, itemized supplemental inspection requirements and, (2) present appropriate diagrans locating the areas for examination. Components in the Refueling Water Storage Systen, Chenical voltane and Control l
- System and the Containment Spray Systen exer.pted from examination by ASME BW Code,Section XI (IE:-1220), see Table 1,are included.
2.
BASIS EOR INSPECTION 2.1 DEFINITION OF OWNER IlffElfr In accordance with the requirements set forth by 10CFR 50.55a(b) (2)(iv), the extent of examination for pressure retaining welds in ASME Code Class 2 piping must ccznply.with the requirenents of the 1974 Edition of Section XI up to and including the Stamer 1975 Addenda. To comply with the NRC intent

Corporation has prepared this supplemental inservice inspection i
program plan to include selected piping welds in the above identified systens. ASME Code Case N-408 has been used as guidance. in making the weld selection criteria, as an alternative to the requirements of ASME Section XI 1974 B$ition through Stamer 1975 Addenda. The methodology and acceptance criteria j
will be in accordance with ASME Section XI 1980 Edition with Addenda through Winter 1981.
2.2 WELD SELECTION CRITERIA j
'1he welds selected for exanination shall include 7.5% of the austenitic stainless steel or high alloy welds for piping > NPS 4 j,
and a nominal wall thickness > 3/8 inch. Welds in piping I 3/8 inch are not exanined, however they have been included in the i
total weld count to which the 7.5% sampling rate is applied.
l The exaninations are distributed anong tenninal ends and I
structural discontinuitites prorated to the degree practical and within each systen, exaninations are distributed between various line sizes prorated to the degree practical.
In cases where the pipe size is > NPS 4 but the wall thickness is,
below 3/8 inches, the exam is deterred to another pipe (supply i
line upstream) meeting the selection criteria even if it is outside the systen boundary.

All calibration standards are to be retained on site.

Each weld or other examination area is designated by a unique identification number, and then described. Also identified are applicable examination category, method, procedure number, any calibration standard number referenced for ultrasonic examination, as described in Section 3 of the ISI General Reference Text (Doctanent No. 83A1692).
Examinations are broken down evenly to three periods for each systen. Examination it m s are then divided according to the isometric figure that they appear on. Multiple examination requirements of the same component are listed together in the schedule tables.
The procedures noted in the attached Program Plan and Schedule tables refer to examination procedures identified in the Inservice Inapection Program Plans provided to the Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation by Nuclear Energy Services under lh contract 10466-M-189.
ICTE: CVCS pipe, noted in Table 1, remains exenpt per weld, selection criteria of Section 2.2.
